Interior Design with a Sense of History.
For new office spaces in a former chapel in Remich, BELVEDERE Architecture developed the interior design and workspace design within the existing building fabric, with a focus on preserving historic elements, high-quality design and contemporary use.
For the new office spaces in a former chapel in Remich, BELVEDERE Architecture developed the interior design and workspace design within the existing structure. Our contribution focused on the interior architectural design of the working environments and on the question of how the special atmosphere of the place could be translated into a contemporary use.
As the interior designers for this project, we reinterpreted the spatial composition of the existing building and translated original elements into a modern design language. Historic details were not only preserved, but consciously reimagined and carefully integrated into the new concept of use. The result is a working environment in which past and present are connected through materiality, proportion, craftsmanship and a clear aesthetic approach.
This project is a strong example of our approach to interior design, workspace design, interior renovation and working with existing buildings. It shows how the preservation of historic elements can be combined with the requirements of a functional, high-quality and distinctive workplace. In this way, a contemporary working environment was created in Remich that carries the spirit of the existing building forward while opening it up to a new use.
