This new storage warehouse is currently being built and with a total surface area of 12,700m² will include administrative areas on the mezzanine as well as a canteen and sanitary facilities.
This new storage warehouse is currently being built on behalf of WDP Warehouses with brains in the "Weiergewan" economic activity zone in Contern. BELVEDERE Architecture has been charged by SGI Luxembourg for the performance of architectural services, design and programming of the hall.
The distribution centre is premium built, with free stacking height of 10.5 metres, 1 loading dock per 1,000 m², gas-powered air heaters and an ESFR sprinkler system for maximum fire security. The landscape office, fully fitted canteen and sanitary facilities, such as showers and dressing rooms are included, of course. On the sustainability front, there will be led lighting all around, a rainwater harvesting system and a fortified roof to enable solar panel installation. The warehouse is equipped with WDP Smart Energy, granting unfettered control of the energy consumption at all times.
WDP identifies the municipality of Contern as the perfect location for a Pan-European or worldwide logistics hub because of the excellent access to the highway network and the airport.
