Located on rue Wenkel in Remich, just a short walk from the Moselle River, a former 19th-century chapel has been carefully transformed into contemporary workspaces. The historic building, characterised by a strong architectural identity, now comprises three levels of approximately 100 m² each, reinterpreted as part of its adaptive reuse.
Alongside the structural transformation of the building envelope, BELVEDERE Architecture was commissioned by the owner to design the complete interior and workspace concept of the project. The scope covered all three floors – from the ground floor and first floor to the newly reinterpreted attic level, which is occupied by the owner. The two remaining levels are intended for office use.
A central focus of the interior design was the translation of the chapel’s historic identity into a contemporary use. Existing elements were consciously retained and integrated into a calm, modern design language. The patterns of the original window grilles informed the design of a bespoke room divider, while fragments of the original mosaic glazing were incorporated into a specially designed installation within the corridor area.
The interior design services included spatial concept development, design, detailed and execution planning, the selection of materials and furniture, as well as on-site support during implementation. Completed at the end of 2025, the project brings together contemporary interior architecture with the history of a carefully restored building.
